Post your latest oil change

Son’s 2005 Pilot 212K pre off to college changeout
Out: M1 Euro 5/40 and Honda filter
In: M1 Euro 5/40 and Napa gold filter

This is first time a non Honda oil filter has been installed on this car. Bought the Napa one as I was there picking up spark plugs for OPE and was lazy.

But does it have the same bypass setting?
i also run 3593a’s on my Hondas.

2021 Ram 1500 3.6 V6, 43,905 miles. 6,997 miles on oil, and it was down around 17%. I haven't driven it to when it tells you to change the oil, but supposedly it happens at 15% and figured today was a good day to change it. Had several quarts of Pennzoil 5W-30 Full Synthetic sitting around from the wife's late Equinox, so throwing caution to the wind, put 5W-30 in despite the 0W-20 on the filler cap .

Pennzoil synthetic runs a little on the lighter side of a 30 weight oil so you should be fine - you may check if any other oil grades are listed in the OM for this engine ?

Been a while since I posted on here, here we go:

2013 Toyota Tundra 5.7L, 165,000 mi, 5,000 OCI
Out: QS FS 0W-20, OE Toyota Filter
In: QS FS 0W-20, OE Toyota Filter
Running strong, no oil consumption. Will do QSUD next time.

2014 Honda Accord 2.4L, 125,000 mi, 5,000 OCI
Out: PP 0W-20, OE Honda Filter
In: PP 0W-20, OE Honda Filter
Oil level at the low mark on the dipstick, I think it's the oil control ring for #1 that's causing it to sip oil.

2017 Honda Accord 2.4L, 95,000 mi, 5,000 OCI
Out: PP 0W-20, OE Honda Filter
In: PP 0W-20, OE Honda Filter
My daily's running strong, no oil consumption. Found a local Walmart that stocks PUP, will switch to it next time.

2019 Jeep Cherokee 2.4L, 100,000 mi, 5,000 OCI
Out: PP 0W-20, OE Mopar Filter, OE Spark Plugs (Champion I think they were?)
In: PUP 0W-20, OE Mopar Filter, NGK Ruthenium Spark Plugs
Running strong, no oil consumption.

That's all folks!

Changed oil in buddy’s 2012 Buick Enclave. 165,640 miles. It is using oil and he doesn’t check it often. So instead of usual Mobil1 5W30 EP I was putting in, went 0W40 to see if it slows down consumption a bit. Plus, might be better for that chain.

If the chain was prone to stretching it would have done so already at 165.5K miles.

2020 Mazda CX5 Grand Touring 2.5L I4

40041 miles, 5028 on this OCI.

Out: Dealer Bulk Mobil 1 0w20, Mazda MV line filter
In: Dealer bulk Mobil 1 0w20, Mazda MV line filter

This was the last of my pre-paid oil changes (and rotations). It was the first OCI in a long time that I hit mileage before six months; I always ignored the 6mo part of 5k/6mo.

Next time around, I'll have to see if the shop I want to use for oil changes in the future will let me supply my own oil and filters.

Also during this trip: rear brakes and rotors, brake fluid flush.

My daughter has the GMCversion of this model. It will certainly like the 0w40.
BG MOA and BG EPR may help consumption most. A five minute engine flush produces good results, using this BG Product.
Google them.

Nah. I stay away from that.
What bad results have you-had? I've yet to read / hear any.
This is the simplest / easiest flush I ever encountered. Pour it in moments leading to oil change time and wait five minutes of idle-time. Then drain. After-effects are a cleaner engine and less consumption...... many times cut in half.

Follow the instructions on the label. But hey, some users can't do that correctly.

BG is used by VW dealerships to flush the coolant systems (total snake oil sales), and the main reason why they have clogged heater cores as those that skip never have issues. I personally would not touch that with 10ft pole.
My friend does not have issue with huge consumption. he is non car guy, not diligent in checking oil. He ownes car last 50k, and I always changed oils strictly using M1 5W30 EP. The engine is smooth and works great, but it uses some OI. 0W40 might be enough to lower consumption to the point of reaching 5K without the need to add oil.

Yes, as far as I know, biggest issue is oil consumption and people neglecting it. So, let's see if 0W40 helps a bit.
Looked that up and still looks like the LLT engine in the '12 Enclave. PCV on the rear bank may be clogged. Clean and drill out 7/32 single and 5/32 for the double holes. Ours did 1qt per 5k mi from new, since this it's slowed down to less than that.
Use a scraper to get under it/between the lip of the pcv and valve cover. Then pop it out with a flat bladed screwdriver. Here's one from a 100k mi LLT:
