Post your latest oil change

2018 Equinox 1.5 turbo at 59,903 miles. Last oil change was August 20 at 56,143, so 3,750 on the last run. Stupid me bought high mileage PP (give me a break, working 7 night shifts in a row tends to mess you up). I wanted to do a change before it gets stupid cold here in MN and I had the heated garage at work accessible. Oil life monitor showed 50%. So far this vehicle has been pretty much trouble free and gets decent gas mileage.

2010 Tacoma that belongs to my neighbor, done lots of work to it this week for her, but since this is the oil change only thread.
New Fram Ultra Synthetic filter, and Mobil 1 5w30 oil in her Tacoma today. No idea what oil it had in it, but man was it dirty, and I removed the Toyota filter that was on it. Since she bought it in April 2022, this is the first oil change it has had. Told her that I'll do it again this summer.

2021 Corolla, 1.8L. Supertech 0W20 and Denso filter, replacing the same. 5k OCI, forgot how long it's been, maybe 3 months?. Might tempt the fates and go 10k on this next change, it's a PFI and lives live at 2,200rpm due to its CVT.
Even into 2nd gear it switches at only 2,200 rpms?
Japan lives so close to Korea and my Hyundai CVT lives at 4,2000 rpms into 2nd gear. The dealer says "it's normal Joe"

My wife's year-younger Kia has an IVT and it shifts real similar to yours. I think Korea probably eventually stole your smartest transmission guy from Japan.

Wait - never mind! I just found out the Japanese hi-tech guy was scared by an earthquake in Japan that shook his bed and moved to S. Korea.
That explains it..

The later 2.0's have a "launch" gear and so do have a traditional gear shift, then CVT operation after that. Alas, I was cheap, and got a 1.8... so but a regular CVT under the hood. Under heavy throttle (ha!) it will simulate high rpm shifting, otherwise it tends to just go up to about 2,200 rpm and sit there. Drops on coasting of course, and if I feel spunky, I might use enough throttle while getting up to speed that it may hit 3k. But otherwise, very often, I'll go from zero to 60 or 70mph and once at 2k (or 2,200, again throttle dependent), it'll sit at that rpm all throughout acceleration.

2021 Ram 1500 3.6 V6
Out: Valvoline 0W-20, 7705 miles. 23% Oil life remaining
In: Valvoline Advanced 0W-20, STP filter

Found a funnel to fit between the frame and front stabilizer to try to keep the oil off the frame when draining. Would have worked if I hadn't dropped the drain plug into the funnel. 😱😱

Sisters-in-law’s 2019 Dodge Durango with 185,500 miles.

OCI: about 9900 miles and 1% on the OLM.

Out: 0w20 bulk shop oil and jobber filter I’m guessing, oil was changed by a shop when the rotors & pads were done in late September.

In: 5 quarts Total 0w20, 1 quart Total 5w30, Fram Filter.

Changed air filter and rotated the tires.

Due to the lifetime engine recall warranty. Just gives the less to fight us on. And since the last engine got to 215,000 before it blew up, I figured why not just keep doing it.
Just keep-in-mind only the replaced parts are covered. Whatever was transferred over from the prior engine is not covered.

Besides, if you jump up another viscosity, it's to your benefit and will not void your warranty. What voids the warranty is lack of oil, too long of an OCI, wrong oils (for instance: diesel), or too thin of oils.

Try a 0/5w30. Both you and the engine will like it.

Dont you usually do her OCIs if I remember correctly? I am looking forward to using some of my Total stash this year also in the Rav4 Hybrid. OW20 flavor snagged at Advance Auto -- five five quart jugs and nine single quarts.

Yes Sir, I usually do the oil changes. Just happen to be done last time elsewhere. They bring it to me because I can do it on the weekends. They get a group III synthetic six quart oil change, filter and tire rotation basically at material cost.

First time using the Total myself from the clearance stash. More to come.

Yeah I know the recall only covers the replaced parts. At the last engine replacement they gave us a long block I am pretty sure. Honestly the engine gave us no signs of failure other than slightly high oil consumption. When I replaced the valve cover gaskets the valvetrain looked great with little to no signs of wear at 175k or so miles.

I'm good on checking levels and whatnot, so I'm not worried about running low on oil or anything like that. And I stick to the current recommendation of 7500 mile oci, since the car is primarily highway use.
