Post Your Latest (Motorcycle) Oil Change!

You know I showed you how to average numbers when you did a similar mix, right? Add both of the low numbers and divide by two. It's a 10w on the low end if all else is equal.

For percentage change: Find the difference between the beginning number and the ending number, then divide by the beginning number. Then multiply by 100. Going from up 5w to 10w is a 100% increase. If going down from 15w to 10w, that's a 33% decrease. Respectfully, those are not hitting the target of essentially T5 15w40. With respect to a semi synthetic blend yes, in terms of potential oil grade if all else is equal, it's not.

T5 10W-40 🤣

You know you're essentially making Rotella T5, right? But I like It.
Well .. That might depend on the actual synthetic content of T5 oils. I'm guessing the 50/50 mixture of T4/T6 will have higher synthetic content, but who knows ??

Agree. My response about the T5 mix in post 822 was saying it is a semi synthetic mix with respect to half conventional and half full synthetic. However not making any deliberate comparison to how much synthetic T5 might have itself. The main point was with respect to the grade of the oil a person would end up with all else equal. I ran the 100 CST through that calculator in the above post, best I can tell it's a 12.5w on the low end. If that floats the boat, then sail on!
