I think you got all of the good out of that one.
I looked and I think I went 3 years. Normally I do change once per year after pollen is done. Hard to fathom the days when there was no filter. My 1998 Maxima did not have one, and our 2011 Buick did, but for 2011 some did, some didn’t….

The Toyota one fits much more snug in the air box than the aftermarket Denso. Also, the Denso filter gasket/seal seemed pinched and not sealing. Hope nothing really got in. Didn’t get a picture of that.

85987 miles on vehicle
24658 miles (and 34 months) on air filter

I am relying on a Carfax report to know when the air filter was last changed. This is my first time changing it since we bought the vehicle. We bought the car with 63k miles on it. I have examined the filter earlier in our ownership and it did look newish back when we bought the vehicle.

Replaced with a Hengst air filter. Should be good to go for another 3 yrs/30k miles or so.

Foam has been deformed and cracked.

The pleats under the foam aren't too bad.

The pleats on the outer edge, though, without the foam prefilter, have lots of gunk in them.

Out: Wix, 25377 miles and 45 months of service. Honestly, it looks pretty good still. But 45 months is approaching dry rot time. Lots of large leaf/twig debris, but not a lot of fine dirt in the pleats.

11-06-2018 printed on the side. 7 year old filter. That foam was probably really brittle too? That filter foam seems to be cut short on that edge. Good run at 25k but it appears to have aged out (foam degradation). Let us know how the Hengst goes. (y)

I've got a used oil analysis pending for that run, so we'll see if the SI climbed or not. Regardless, it was time to change. I hope for another 3 years on the Hengst!

I’m with you. Looks good. I run my Honda Fit air filter for 50-60k. The depth media can take a lot of load before restriction sets in.

2022 GMC Canyon, 51k miles on truck, about 23k miles on air filter. Doesn’t look bad but when I tapped it on the floor, there was a lot of fine dust from off roading
