2009 Honda Pilot. 146,000 miles. This is a new to my family vehicle. Not sure when the coolant was changed last. I wanted to stay with Aisian Blue so selected Prestone Max Asian Blue good for 15 years. Contains 2EHA which I have in my other two vehicles. I prefer concentrated but couldn’t find any in town and since I might do the water pump down the road I settled on a one gallon spill and fill with the pre-mixed “ Ready to Use” coolant.
The Pilot has a small plastic valve in the rad. A small set of pliers is helpful to get it open. There is a small pee-hole in the under cladding so the coolant drains easily into a basin. Exactly one US gallon came out. I’ve included shots of the old and new coolants. The old coolant was darker. I also drained the coolant from the reservoir and filled it with new coolant. Enjoy the pics.
