Post Your Latest Coolant Change.

09 Prius, ended the Prestone experiment early, since IMO RTV(most Toyota engines are “wet” meaning the cooling passages are sealed with RTV and it’s a pain to take the timing cover off) and 2-EHA don’t mix. 202K on the clock.
Out - Prestone Cor-Guard
In - Peak 10X

The other cars will still keep Prestone - the RTV usage is “low” and an easier job to reseal if need be.

1975 Chevrolet Malibu
Replaced radiator and hoses
Flushed block and heater core
Out: unknown green coolant
In: Prime Guard conventional green premix

1995 Prevost bus XL40' chassis converted to a motorhome in 1996 by LibertyCoach. Holds 24 gallons of coolant.

Switching chemistry from standard life Prestone HD Command coolant to extended life organic acid technology, Detroit Diesel Power Cool Plus, manufactured by Old World Industries.

An ole heating system hose started leaking recently so I'm changing them all and a whole lot more.

Is 1995 too late to still have a 2 stroke DD?

2001 Chevy S10 Blazer 4x4 with the 4.3 Vortec. 103k miles.

Out: Unknown nasty orange dexcool, looked rusty. The engine is made out of cast iron, so a little bit of rust in coolant isn’t too much of a concern.

Whole lot of nasty stuff on the bottom of the coolant overflow tank. Had to remove the overflow tank and scrubbed it clean with some purple power degreaser.

Took 10 gallons of distilled water to do a complete flush. It took 10 gallons to get a clean and clear drain.

In: Prestone All makes and models green coolant with distilled water. Bought the concentrate and mixed distilled water 50/50.

Coolant gauge actually reads cooler now. And thankfully, the heater core didn’t start leaking after the flush.

As per Signature 2022 Corolla Cross...

Out...Factory Fill.
In...Genuine Toyota Super Long Life pink coolant...1 gallon...
74,371 miles.

There is no drain plug @ engine block on this exact model.

It is a bit early, but I was in at the body shop for a fender bender anyway.

Next change will be at 150k miles.

I insist on no mixing of chemistry and Toyota fluid only re coolant.

'94 Chevy C1500. Starter died so I finally decided to replace the weeping freeze plug behind it. Filled with Napa green that was on sale.

2018 F150 2.7 64xxx miles
Drain and fill with distilled until almost clear (4 rinse/repeats over 4 days)

Drain out 2ish gallons, in with 1.75 gallons Motorcraft yellow and topped off with distilled.

A few weeks ago I had the system drained and replaced with fresh coolant The car was in the shop to have a power steering line replaced and while there I decided to have the coolant replaced as well. I had some Toyota pink stashed away and this seemed like a good time to make some needed shelf space. The coolant was changed a couple of years ago and I didn't like the thoroughness with which it was done. Now I'm happy and there's some freed-up shelf space just waiting for some containers of HPL
