The OEM DOT 3 (likely 4 years old) tested at around 1% water, and looked a bit cloudy, but not terrible coming out.

Bosch ES16 DOT 5.1 fluid has a yellow tinge, but you can tell it's fresh more or less by how clear it is. I ran about a litre through the system in total.

I used Permatex Silicon/Ceramic (Orange) brake lube on the pins, shims and caliper/brake contact points.

Caliper slide pins torqued to 29 ft/lbs, brackets to 85 ft/lbs.

2016 Honda Accord Sport
Out: Likely the original brake fluid - it was dark.
In: Approx 36oz of Honda DOT Brake Fluid through the calipers

The brake fluid was an oversight since the car is still pretty low mileage. I'll keep after it going forward! Not sure how much is a placebo effect, but brake feel did improve!

I wanted to use my Motive Power Bleeder but it looked like the adapters they offer for Hondas are pretty generic and have mixed reviews. Instead of going with one of theirs, I purchased some 3/8 hose, a few air hose adapters and a quick release adapter to use with the CTA Tools 7030 Master Cylinder Adapter. It ended up working great allowing me in the future to easily switch between the Euro adapter it originally came with and the Honda one. The fitment is tight, but didn't leak and the quick release made it easier to install / remove. Here's a few photos.

Top / left is the Motive BMW adapter, right side is the Honda one.

Envelopes (one moved out of place) helped to protect the paint from any spilling 🤣

Much cleaner now!

Flushed the brakes on the Elantra. 6 years, 87.5k miles on the OE fluid. It actually tested fine for water and copper, but decided to replace it anyways with my last little bit of time off before going back to work.

Honda’s Winter Storage Guide recommends flushing the brake fluid every 2 years, so I went ahead and did that this weekend. I bought the scoot secondhand this past Spring and I don’t have a service history on it, but based on the color of the fluid I’m betting it’s original.

This scoot has two reservoirs: one for the front brake (located on the handlebar), and one for the Combined Braking System (located inside the dash and accessed via a little door).

Flushing the front brake went without a hitch. When I was flushing the CBS, though, I somehow managed to lose the diaphragm inside of the dash. I’m going to have to remove the panels there and see if I can find it before I scoot next. For now, I just have the cap screwed on sans diaphragm.

2006 BMW 530I, out Mercedes Benz DOT 4, in Mercedes Benz DOT 4. Used a Might Vac bleeding vessel but pulled the vacuum with my shop vac.

2000 Crown Victoria, changed with the Motive Power Bleeder. The Power Bleeder makes it so easy that I try to change the brake fluid 1-2 times a year. The fluid was green/blue when I first bought the car and I enjoy maintenance so it's worth the (low) cost of brake fluid to keep it pristine.

Prestone DOT 3/4 out (can't remember), last changed in March
Prestone DOT 4 in

Will probably use SuperTech DOT 4 next.

22 E350, 14K.

11/21 build date - shame on the dealer who didn’t do one during the CPO PDI.

Emptied the reservoir and flushed 150ml of DOT4LV thru each caliper. 1L was barely enough.

Out: factory original fluid. Came out dark yellow, but not bad.

....reservoir cap says DOT4 but owner's manual says DOT4 LV. Used my MightyVac to pull from the calipers.

The Ford adapter for my Motiv Power Bleeder apparently is the wrong threading and is an older style. So, I plan to get the right Motiv adapter and redo with Motorcraft DOT4 LV that is dirt cheap on RockAuto.

Noticed I need a new bleed nipple cap - OEM was ripped and rubber has seen better days. Probably replace 3, since one caliper is new w/new cap.
