Filled up today with 87 octane E10. Difference between 87 E10 and 91 E0 was almost a dollar.
515.2 miles / 14.435 gallons = 35.7 MPG using 91 oct E0. Entire tank was below 32°F. 85% of the tank was at temps of 19-22° on highways of 60-70 mph. Constant direct crosswinds of 30-40 mph for over 400 miles of the tank. Not to bad considering.

Tires were 7-8 psi low on my last check-in, might explain the low mpg. Properly inflated tires this time. Also sooty tailpipe finger pic.

A number of tanks during my trip to Illinois and back were over 37mpg ... the last few were 37.76, 37.53, 37.59, 37.63. Not too shabby for an old Camry. I was quite pleased, albeit a bit frustrated: I really wanted to top 38mpg ...

Back atcha ! Pictures from yesterday . Took ACCENT ( 1.6 Ltr. w/ G.D.I. ) for 150+ mile round trip to medical appointment . About 2/3rds' of driving was on interstate with speeds up to 74 M.P.H.. Checked oil level and was a bit lower from higher speeds . I think it also contributed to more soot inside tailpipe .

I should compare the tailpipe soot on my 2011 Soul with the old 2.0L MPI engine with the soot picture from my 2019 Soul 1.6L GDI. I’ll do that tonight if I remember. The old Soul has over 100K miles more than the newer one but I am betting the tailpipe soot is going to be less.

Fill up yesterday with 87 octane E10. 91 octane E0 still to expensive. The weather has been much warmer for the tank I'm reporting on. A even mix of city and interstate. My receipt blew away again. Love those midwest winds. 430 miles / 10.67 gallons = 40.38 MPG
Short fill to beat a 25¢ increase.
