Post your Gas Mileage : Calculated

Why the WOW face ?
Good mileage. Mine has been slowly going down (which it usually does in the winter). Last fill up was a little under 32mpg. Same engine but manual transmission. Oh and the car is shaped like a refrigerator. Maybe I should check my tire pressure.

I just got back from a road trip, a 2400ish total mile round trip from STL to Boca Raton FL.

The average fuel mileage for my 2020 Mazda CX5 Grand Touring AWD across the trip came to 30.4MPG. The highest single tank, as calculated by Fuelly, was a little over 32MPG!

This was also with cruising speeds generally between 70-80mph depending on the stretch of highway. The total mileage on my CX5 is now ~26500 miles.

Not too shabby. Thank goodness there's an oil change scheduled for today, I'm about 1.5k miles over, but the last 2.4k were about 98% highway, no big deal.

As a side note, I run 89 in the CX5. The better response is worth the slight increase in fuel cost. Also, urk, fuel prices in south Florida were a bit painful.

On my 2021 Honda HRV Sport now with 22000 miles on it. Averaging 34 to 36 MPG with a 1.8 engine.....Happy with that but my 2007 Honda Accord with a 2.4 was getting 34 to 36 all of the time and had a lot more power too...I wish the 2.4 would have been in the HRV...I think that the 2.4 is one of the best Honda engines they have made....IMO

IDK if I've mentioned this in this thread in the past. However, my(98 hp/109 lb.ft) 1988 Honda Accord LX 2.0L/2bbl/4spd auto(EPA c:24/h:34) got consistently higher(~37 mpg) than any other vehicle we've owned including the (182 hp/180 lb.ft.)2015 Nissan Altima 2.5 SV(EPA c:27/h:38) that I currently own.

Yes, this newer Altima is ~700 lbs heavier, ~85 hp/70 lb.ft MORE POWERFUL. However, I just don't get the fuel economy out of the Altima as I had hoped. It's not bad but not as consistently higher as the older Accord was regularly. Since I don't actually do any city, stop & go/slow & go driving, I can get about 28-29 mpg combine. My EPA combined is 31.

And on the highway, it is closer to 34-35 mpg when traveling out of state and driving for several hours(6-8 hrs) from 1 tank to another. But, we usually have 2 passengers & luggage.

I have gotten over 40 mpg(calculated, not car computer) on a straight, flat drive with not much stuff so, it can be done. But if we travel through any hilly/mountainous highway, mpg drops.

As all new(er) vehicles are... this 2015 Altima is a 1000X better, more comfortable, quiet, better riding car than that '88 Accord ever was.
And as far as fuel economy, I do understand that YMMV. I am an easy driver who drives for good fuel economy.

2018 Mazda CX-9 AWD:

21.3 hand calculated over 9,600 miles. Highest was 28.3(surprisingly at 70 mph). Lowest was around 17.5 City driving mix of conservative and lightly spirited. EPA is 20/26

2014 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum
20.5 gallon tank
Average 250 miles per tank
250/20.5 = about 12.19 MPG
Screen in car says my average MPG is 15.3

Yeah I know it's bad but most of my driving is short-trips to/from work or within town and I'm 5 minutes away from everything, plus I'm overdue for new spark plugs...
