2016 Mazda6, six speeed manual

276 miles/7.8 gallons = 35.4 miles per gal. I’m pretty happy with that. My current oil fill is Castrol 5w-40 and it seems to be costing me around 0.5 mpg compared to the 0w-20 it normally has.

On a totally unrelated note, either the forum software or my iPad automatically filled in the math when I typed 276 miles/7.8 gallons as soon as I entered the = sign, and it included the units but didn’t round to significance. Here it is again unedited: 276 miles/7.8 gallons=35.385 miles per gal

We took the C43 to Charlotte for the weekend to visit our son (and attend the ACC tournament). This is the data from the trip home. Most of the time I was able to cruise at 75-80 mph, but a couple of minor traffic jams cut the average speed down considerably.

Warm afternoons for most of this tank, with highs in the seventies most days and only about 10% interstate.

About 50-55 cents in gas alone a mile! I try to keep my fuel expense to 16-18 cents a mile, but I do a several 2-3-400 mile trips a weekend in the winter.
And my kids ask why we don't drive a pickup...

Filled up at Murphy's today. I forgot to take any pics. I do remember the truck's computer was 40.2 mpg for the tank. Guess I was so excited to get gas for $2.59 for E10 87 octane. In order to put something up for you to view. I can tell your really excited. Usually the trip computer is 6-7% optimistic. So I multiplied 40.2 x .935 for a close guess of 37.58 mpg. I promise to do better next time.

For the first 12 miles my Mazda got 32. 2 MPG and believe it or not calculated and displayed is less than .5 mpg different.
