My mom is barely getting 22-23 on the same car, but with Auto. This is less than it was getting during the winter. Any ideas?
Either something is really amiss, such a spark plugs, air filter, emergency brake on, brake calipers not releasing completely, riding the brake pedal, OR, your mother is racing at night, OR, the method to determine MPG is incorrect, OR, she's not at cruising speed for the tankful. Probably some more OR's I didn't list.
She does in-town driving, but the MPG has been down about 2 mpg compared to normal.
Spark plugs and air filter were both done 15k ago. I got a code for an upstream oxygen sensor 2 weeks ago, but it mysteriously disappeared. Maybe it wasn't a hiccup after all?
