changed the st. wheel cover with a new one - it feels really nice :)

the flash makes the rest of the wheel look light and dirty, but the whole dash/wheel looks a lot better in natural light...

Some touching up to do, as well as putting the door speakers in in the Spring/Summer; first time I did the work myself (most of it. My brother helped me with a couple finer points:

^ Thanks. We are really liking it thus far. We got an excellent deal on it. Drove 220 mi (1 way) last Fri to trade our 08 Mariner for it.

^ Yeah -- it's rated 14/20. On the trip home, we made 17 (2-lane/70 mph). City = 13.5 currently. It's quite new, and we're still on winter gas here. I'm sure it will get better. I typically get 17 with my Sport Trac (mixed City driving), and it's rated 13/20.

Latest pic of my '09 Pontiac G8 GT dash:

This past weekend I installed the volts, oil temp and oil pressure display above the center vents - it's kinda hard to see because of the flash. It took a total of two days to pull the dash apart, install the display unit and put it all back together again but it's worth it! It's basically a display for those parameters monitored by the engine computer - it's offered on the G8's home market cousin: the Holden Commodore VE. '08 G8s have the much maligned "Atari" volts and oil pressure display which was deleted for '09 in favor of a storage cubby. I also replaced the standard rear-view mirror with an auto-dimming one (yes G8s came with a manual dimming mirror!). That, the two tone steering wheel and shift knob and the sliding leather console lid completes the mods I made to the interior of my G8.
