Anyway, I did the swap because I'm a firm believer in the metric system. There's only three countries in the world still using the US customary system, and we're the only industrialized nation. Shameful, really. Unless we all start using it frequently we'll never get over the 'I don't want to switch because I only know the customary system' attitude. So I'm using it as much as I can.
It's funny because I try to forget the metric system for most of the stuff I do up here, like when I'm figuring out my weight, it's in pounds, not kg. Or my height, I still say it in feet/inches, not cm (in fact I don't know anyone up here that tells people their height in cm or their weight in kg!) And when I'm driving my Corvette I always switch the gauges over to imperial (they default to metric when you shut off) because I understand the temperatures and pressures much better in imperial than I do in metric, especially something like tire pressure or oil pressure, I know what 30psi is, but have no clue what 250kpa is!
