I'm having popping sound when driving at low speed like; driving on dip road in the parking lot I hear popping sound every time from both rear end. I can't figure out where's coming from. I also hear squeaking sound to. Shop can't figure out where's coming from so I feel like let Nissan look at it. In past we did rear subframe and control arm red lion bushing installed. Buddy took out everything like he put it on the ground, like he took out rotor, hub, brake components behind the hub. After that is started making the noise. I feel like my back end is loosen, because I can feel my back end hoping when hitting the bump at no matter how fast I'm going. Shop find strip toe bolts on rear camber arm, so they put whatever bolts they had, and they did not put new toe bolts, so I don't know if this have something to do with it.

I check the sway bar link it brand new. I put racingline performance sway bar link. It still tight.

You talking about sway bar bushing? If so yes they are new, I have new nismo sway bar.

How can I found out the noise is coming from? It only do it when car is on the ground.

After reading the title my initial thought was beano.
Ok after a quick Google search I see your red lion bushings are poly eurothane. Poly needs to be lubed with grease it it will pop or squeak. Poly is also very stiff and will transfer much more road feel. You will feel every little bump.

It not Poly bushing. Red lion busing is Nylatron bushing n below message from red lion.

I don't recommend putting any grease in the bushings because Nylatron is self-lubricating.

Check your shock/strut mount plate. I'm not too familiar with Nissan, but they usually have a rubber isolator between the two plates. That rubber degrades over time and can cause a clunk or pop similar to what you describe.

I just have to ask - have you tampered with the rear shocks/struts recently? A loose nut at the top of the shock/strut rod can also cause noises as you are describing.

I have D2 Racing coilover before I did this rear end job. All the noise happen right after we did rear end work. You know if e-brake component can make noise if something he didnt put it back in properly?

I had a similar issue with the front suspension of my car after having the upper control arm + ball joint replaced. Turns out they didn't install it tight enough (or properly, I forget the way they worded it). I think The Critic might be onto something when saying something might be loose or not installed properly.

Another anecdote, when my sister's old Firebird was lowered, it was bottoming out on the rubber stopper. It would cause a banging/popping sound from the back. We ended up removing this worn rubber stopper and it was fine after that. Just a thought. Is your car lowered?

Yes im low, but again i was lowered before to and I didnt have problem, is happen after doing rear end work. What does rubber stopper look like? If my rear end link in installed in wrong direction can this cause the noise?

I'm not sure if the setup is the same on your car, but it just looked like a big rubber pad (almost looked like a brake pad, but thicker) above the tire when you take the tire off, you could see it. I've been trying to find a picture of it, but I can't find it. It might not actually be rubber... I'm not sure. Ours was pretty much disintegrating so we just ripped it off. I think the purpose of it was to prevent bottoming out.

I had this car from day one.

Hello everyone,

This private shop that did rack n pinion job on my car, they don't want to help what causing the noise from rear end. I let them have my car 3 days and they didnt even try where's coming from. They blaming on the bushing and don't want to pin out where's noise coming from. Should I let Nissan look at it?

you need to check it on a drive-on rack. have someone jounce the car while you watch.
