Hence why I choose to get a white car, with thermally insulated windows. It's a choice that cost me up front, but reduces parasitic drag over the life of the vehicle: faster to heat in winter, not as hot when parked under the summer sun and easier to cool once going.

So I evacuated mine and recharged and it is now at 51/200 it was cooling at idle to 41 degrees on high at center vent and it never did the thing where the air flow would get slower then faster ect. So tomorrow will be the true lipmist test. Hopefully that's all it was. Wouldn't it be great if my issue was a 10 dollar can of refrigerant

Did you get the refrigerant capacity of the AC system, and weigh the charge you put in? If so you're golden, and did the job by the book.

He did no such thing. $10 fix it yourself can was used. Hey if it did the job, more power to him but I would have certainly done things by the book at an AC specialist to properly diagnose the problem and fix it properly to spec, not eye balling it.

It was a used car some people are just itching to fix it till it's broke .
I'll probably evacuate and recharge to rule that out regardless. Good starting point

Wouldn't surprise me if the car was wrecked and the AC was repaired and overcharged at a body shop.

How does the bodyshop overcharge it? They have AC machines...
