The other day we were shopping at a local Russian store and came across Pomegranate Wine among their wines. Since I had never tried it but had heard a lot about how good it was, I had to buy it.

It was a semi-sweet red color wine. I usually don't drink sweet wines but after the second sip the perception of sweetness goes away. What remains is a pretty good alcoholic concoction. The wife loved it (she usually doesn't drink wine).

I wonder if anyone else has tried it.

In India, a preliminary study screening for antimicrobial activities of pomegranate seeds shows them to have potent antimicrobial activities against laboratory test organisms........... Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Needless to say, but it must not be fermented....on the seed.

I got it in Indy on 86-th and Ditch road. It's a shop called Babushka's Deli.

Yep I gave it a try as well. Picked mine up at the Super H mart (think it's Korean) lots of cool stuff there especially if you like seafood.

Good stuff the flavor is right on the mark. I bit pricey though but makes a good additive for mixed drinks.
