2.84 $ is a bargin and it is a fair offering !was scared it would be prone to sticking but seeing the shape it just cant happen! was installed today we ll see tomorrow or tonight in the cold how car sound
So how did it sound this morning with the $2.84 filter?

I've lost track in this thread but are you talking about the Toyota OEM filter? If so, then I have used then almost exclusively on both my Toyota cars and they have started at -25 degrees Fahrenheit with no abnormal noise.

Silicone is better, but I haven't experienced any issues either using oil filters with nitrile ADBV's.

If I have my druthers I'll take the silicone...but I have used countless nitrile filters without any real issue either, even in winter, so I don't consider it a deal breaker by any means.

Silicone is better, but I haven't experienced any issues either using oil filters with nitrile ADBV's.

Silicon seems superior in everything I have seen. All the premium filters use silicone & the budget filters use nitrile if that tells you anything. I'm no expert though.
