And do you believe everything a biased press and Moveon.org says?

AFAIK, I've never seen Moveon.org. And I don't even believe everything you say

I'm not the one quoting dubious sources. If I ever stoop that low without a qualifying statement, please take me to task on it.

With the state of the news media in the modern world, you do not want to automatically believe anything you see, hear or read anywhere. Unless you actually witness an event in another country it is difficult to find out for sure what happened. And even if you were there large events can be so extensive and the results so long term that even a actual witness to the events could be confused.

My brother was in Iran during the Iranian revolution. He told me that what we read in the newspapers here and what we saw on TV were very different in many cases from what actually happened. He was there.

But I would be very hesitate to believe anything at a politically motivated site like move.on.

When I tried to find out if Iraqi WMD were in Syria or not, I did not just rely on FOX News. I even went to SYRIAN English language sites on the internet. That is how I found out about the Syrian journalist. And unless there are outright lies being told to the American people by our intelligence agencies, a convoy of trucks were seen by spy satellites or spy aircraft driving into Syria before the war took place.

Don't forget that this is a media war and not just truck bombs and exploding airliners. The terrorists know how to use the media weapon. So do the CIA, Pentagon, etc. Everybody who is smart in the modern world makes use of the media weapon.

Some people are going to be very embarrassed if Iraqi WMD are discovered in Syria. But probably not. They will just move.on!

The Iraqi WMDs are stored on the dark side of the moon with the 150 mpg carbruetors from the 1950s where they are being guarded by a mercenary force of Alpha Centurian Star Troopers and El Chupacabra hired by the Oil Companies, Fox Network, Carl Rove and **** "Jabba the Hut" Cheney

And your sources are?

I don't believe anthing the leftists say anymore. When the message doesn't agree with their preconceived biases, the information becomes, all of a sudden, dubius.

Ah, the world of fantasy must be a neat place!

Mystic,
we should know where they are.......Colin Powell showed us the very things that he said were there. The U.S. intelligence people had these things on film.

Wouldn't it have been so easy just to keep the eye on the ball, and show us as they drove off into the sunset to Syria ?

I don't know what anybody is talking about. Saddam Hussein had no weapons of mass destruction. He did not want to let inspectors in because they might have found his cure for cancer which he was waiting to patent. He told as much to Martha Stewart's broker, then we attacked and ruined things for future generations. Infidels!

He was raising two fine boys who would have been a credit to world peace. They would have never done anything wrong. They just wanted to rape a few young girls and kill a couple of hundred thousand more people of little consequence. They never would have tried to invade another neighbor. The U.N. told them not to!

I don't know why we all are not speaking German or Japanese? I hope the rest of the world doesn't hate us. The rest of the world has done so much for us in the past. We should turn isolationist and see what happens, it would be fun.

Well in this case, they helped out by sending troops to remove the WMD from Iraq. I guess that counts as help in some circles.

The Polish president copped a lot of flack early on by going against public opinion, and relying on the information supplied by his coallition partners.

I can understand him feeling slighted.

Groucho,
it would be funny to see the U.S. turn isolationist, as pretty quickly, the gas pumps would run dry, and there'd be a revolution.

Anyway, if WMD were NOT the reason for going there, why on Earth were they protrayed as THE reason for going there ?

I just gave the Yahoo story a rating of 1 because of its liberal bias. A neutral headline might have said Polish troops to stay despite no WMD's. With a conservative bias it would be Polish president condemns Spanish withdrawal.

You nailed it.

Shannow, as much as we need oil, we are the largest market in the world. Yes, there would be revolution as the gas pumps ran dry, but would some other foreign governments panic first?

Herr Chirac, I hear rumblings from Germany!

There are a great many countries in this world who hold grudges against other countries. What prevents them from acting on those grudges is the thought of intervention by Uncle Sam, not the U.N.

That's just the way it is.
