PoE+ house wiring

Might as well go CAT 6A if you want more than cat 6.
6e not being a recognized standard the brand is very important.
I dont think there is any place for cat 7 or 8 in a home without being massive overkill and unneeded.. Also if buying online I wouldn't trust a cat 7 or 8 rating from Amazon for example. CCA wire is a real issue too.

People shopping for cat 7 online who don't know better end up with flat 32gauge cable etc.
And that one is amazon brand.. yes they put their name on it. 🤯

For normal sized home distances most quality CAT 6 will do 10Gbit... although CAT 6A is preferred.
I've started order CAT8 patch cables (Startech) because they are basically the same price as CAT6A now wholesale. I've not ordered any bulk and tried to do terminations yet (have done lots of CAT6A ones), but other than it being heavier (22 gauge) and having the shielding foil that you'd have to pull back and incorporate, it should be basically the same process.

Wholesale, it's either Eaton or Monoprice for the brand if I want it in spools or boxes.

The monoprice CAT6A shielded keystone jacks are also rated for 22 gauge wire, so if you can't get CAT8 ones, those should be fine.

Ugh... so the installer in my house used shielded wiring (per my request), but they did not use shielded RJ45 jacks. I've heard this could potentially cause issues (antenna effect) and degrade performance. Should I be concerned?
