Id like to get a schedule 40 reducer bushing 1x3/8" npt to attach my air volume control valve in the middle like its supposed to be and not at the very top. You cant keep much of an airplane with the valve at the top. Maximum I get 5 gallons out of the tank before it kicks on and thats not good. It should be like 27 for this 82 gallon tank. Anyways, I want to get a thread fitting to fit this 1" T fitting and then add a little more 1" pvc pipe where you see that galvanized plug and then add the reducer bushing at the end to install the air volume control valve. This seems like the easiest way to avoid cutting a bunch of pipe etc.

So what's that t fitting called thats screwed right to the tank? Thats what I want to cut off and extend out to attach the av control valve to.

Actually it would be better if I just switched all this over to pex. I wasnt the one who setup this disaster in the first place

Is that for compressed air? If so PVC pipe is about the worst material you can use. It can get brittle over time and shatter.

I don't think PEX is technically approved for compressed air either, but it would be a huge improvement safety wise.

Threaded steel pipe would be best.
