Hard to believe, but Home Depot sells an all plastic mower (OK, except for the obvious motor and hopefully frame). It's battery powered, and has good ratings, though. I saw it in person and it just looked and felt awful. What's the world coming to...

It will have to be sitting for 2 weeks, then it will go up into flames.

Been using a corded (non battery) electric mower with plastic frame for ten years.
19 inch mulching Black and Decker...

Works great, and I only paid around $140 dollars for it...

No oil, no gas, no spark plug, just keep the blade sharp...

And don't run over the cord....

17 years on my B+D. I don't even garage it; let it sit outside all winter and just pull the handle in the spring.

I won't even comment on the inherent advantage of an electric motor over a gas one for the task it is performing.

What is the world coming too? An efficient, cost effective way of mowing a lawn with a minimum of resources.

If you keep looking hard enough for things to be afraid of, You will be afraid all the time

If they could get the weight under 50 lbs, I might actually spring for one. I have a significant amount of short but steep hill that I end up weedwacking.

I had the remington version of the cordless. It worked great until the grass grew really tall. I would imagine the lithium ion in conjunction with brushless motors would be far superior.

If I was in the market for a new mower I would consider this. But like someone mentioned earlier I would feel more comfortable with a name brand that I know could service/warranty it.

Funny you should say that, we've only had 2 electric mowers and both burst into flames after the first few uses! Bought a Briggs and had it 7 years without a problem (or service sorry!!!) petroleum power all the way!
