Plastic Engine Covers - just for looks?

I may do the same. So you removed the insulation from it and still use it?
 
I just tore the rest of the insulation out and am using just the plastic cover. Looks better than way.
 
I took mine off of my Jeep Grand Cherokee with its 5.7l Hemi V8 and it stays off. Engines(at least V8s) should be seen and admired not cloaked in anonymity.
