Have you ever used this product?

Hope you don't mind my question.

Do you think that ARX will clean my cylinder walls, enough that I could, at least partially, better seat rings that got the typical crummy "soft" break in?

This is one thing I am hoping for, as I progress with the ARX treatment of, my Mitsubishi 3.0L with 120K on it.

I was just reviewing an ARX test on a Harley V-twin that had evidentally had a "soft breakin". At 10,000 miles on the clock compression readings were sub standard at 120 PSI. After a short cleaning cycle of ARX and rinse, at 12,500 on the clock, the same motor was generating 160 PSI on both cylinders. So I would say yes, ARX can dewfinitly pave the way for second chance at a proper break in. This V-twin was a youngster at 12,500 miles and your 3.0 has seen sunstantially more use since break in, but I have got to believe the ring pack cleaning will defintely help you out.

OOPS I forgot I asked that question. I am glad it worked out for you. Well, in my case, it has only given me TWO MORE InHg at idle is all! Yippee! That is all I can say!

The stuff is amazing. I just began the rinse phase yesterday, and so I am haven't even seen all the benefit of using ARX yet.

Thanks for the update Rick20.

Yep. It sounds like it's working alright Benzadmiral.

I dumped my clean phase oil yesterday too, and it was black as night. Cut open the filter and it was totally full of black grit also. I can't wait for, half way through the rinse phase, when I change filters.

I see no reason why it cannot handle the interval suggested by the OLM.

Update, all,

I checked my new fresh oil after the change on 12/21, and it was hard to see on the dipstick, though with a faint honey tinge to it. When gassing up on 1/1, I checked it again, and the oil now is definitely honey-colored. Still clear, not sludgy, but darkening, after only 400 or so miles -- and about 150 of those were from a steady Interstate run, an hour each way. Normal?

I have nearly 700 miles on the Auto-RX rinse oil in my Saturn and the oil is now light brown. It was nearly clear when I checked it after the oil change.

Yesterday I joined the PP Club. With 3.5 months and 3009 miles on the rinse phase, I had the car's blood renewed, together with a Wix 51040 filter. The Chevron w/ Auto-Rx had been dark brown and dirty-looking on Sunday; the PP is clear and fresh, of course. And the car seems to run more smoothly, though I know that's the placebo effect. I've thought the same after every oil change I've ever had or done.

As some have said, the Buick's 3.8L engine, at just 51,600 miles in 4.5 years, was probably not that dirty, and so I shouldn't expect to see any noticeable change in gas mileage or power. It's enough to know I've done what I could.

I plan to run the PP out to 57,000, which ought to be around October 15. I may pull a sample for a UOA midway through, to get an idea how it's going and consider extending a bit . . . or should I wait until the next change?
