Pittsburgh vs Daytona 3 ton floor jack

I'm not sure, but I think they offer an extended warranty for just a few bucks more. I've never purchased one of their extended warranties, but most of the time I'm asked by the checkout gal if I want it.
Yes, Indeed they do. It's like $20.00 usually I think/depending on price of item l think?

I’ll bet these jacks come out of the same factory but with different paint jobs and labels. I’d keep the Pittsburg.
Sometimes. On a few occasions the project farm tests have shown the more expensive was a much better option but not necessarily. Wasn't there a large recall on harbor freight jacks/stands a few years back due to bad welding/ materials? If the Daytona is only $30 more it might be worthwhile. Second is the Pittsburgh jack serviceable or have parts available if needed? Sometimes the cheaper products are built in batches and aren't repairable.

They do, but I wasn't given the pitch at the register. I guess I can still go in and purchase it within a month.

Insured by Federal Warranty Service Corporation, or Assurant, in every state not named Florida. Might look into their reputation and consider it.

Set up my Pittsburgh. Despite the prominent before-use instructions, mine didn't need to be topped off, or even bled, I suspect.

I was geared up to use it, before discovering I bought a crap scan tool.

Funny, a 90 day warranty just ensures you can return a lemon. It’s not really a warranty at all.
They push the extended warranty ($$$) when you buy them. I was told even if I never kept it inside, I could get it exchanged. That’s a bit extreme though.

90 days seems decent though IMO. Hopefully one would know they bought a lemon the day they buy it.

This is my almost bought a new tool story. My 25ish year old Allied 3.5 ton Chinese floor jack was leaking so badly that even Viagra couldn't keep it up. Groan.

The comparable replacement at HF was $240 so I took it apart to have a look and was able to fix it (at least for now) with a 79 cent O-ring from Ace Hardware.👍

BITOG server issues won't allow a picture at the moment.
