Picked up a new Mazda 3

I love our 2023 CX5 turbo's build quality. coming up on 50,000 miles and not a squeak or a rattle. I think a 3 with a turbo would be a fun car to have but I could not lease because I put too many miles on. I see mazda allows for 10,000 miles a year.

Nice choice of car OP! I once owned a Mazda years ago, was as close to the "perfect car" I have ever owned...
i hope to buy one again one day..
As far as black...
Black paint is so much better than it was years ago, I only buy white cars but nothing looks better than a black car with tinted windows.

You don't see the scratches in black cars like you once did going way back to the 90's. I had a new black 94 Volvo and simply washing that car one time would scratch it, that is NOT the case today with black..

I may very well buy black next time as again, black looks great!

Unfortunately the base Mazda3 only available with auto transmission.
Not bad but I prefer 6 speed manual.

After 2 weeks of rattling around what to do new or used I decided to go with a lease and against my grain said I’d never be in a black vehicle. So unhappy with the vehicles these days I figured I’d go for a payment and see where life takes me in 3 years. Familiar with the Mazda brand had several in the past. This was out the door 1500 total out of pocket 260/month.

Leases are the worse thing you can do for your financial future. Is it too late to return it?

not even close....I personally don't lease because I put too many miles on to make it work. But for some it works out.

$260 monthly $1500 out of pocket does that include sales tax?
To be exact $1240 went towards the down payment since they pulled the 1st months payment from the $1500 down. So yes the total out of pocket due at signing not a cent more $1500.

Nice ride! Love the color.

Nothing wrong with a lease. The Malibu is a lease and with how I use it for work it is significantly cheaper year over year than owning. The idea that a lease is a financially “bad” decision comes from bad leasing practices. Anything can be bad if done recklessly. Home ownership, investing, marriage. Debt/leases are like chainsaws, they can be extremely useful if you know what you’re doing and horribly dangerous if not respected.

Very well put.

Im thinking about leasing a new M2 or M4.

Will not buy it cause it’s a BMW…..
Do M models have good lease incentives? Often the sport and performance packages don't lease well being they know how the vehicles were driven and don't want them back. I looked at WRX' in the past they never had a good lease program but a basic Impreza as long as you had a pulse they'd lease these all day long.

Sharp car!

Honestly nothing wrong with leasing, sometimes it's the cheaper option depending on the end of lease price. The old buy everything cash adage around here just doesn't always work.
We have paid cash, taken out loans, and used leased. All can be done intelligently or recklessly. Each have their place in financial planning.
