3.5 EcoBoost.
Only two choices: Valvoline Advanced 5w30 or Quaker State Ultimate Protection 5w30. Total oil change would have a $4 difference between the two, so the price is negligible.
Which one and why?
Both of those oils are good. Choose either and you're good. In fact, any namebrand oil, or housebrand oil from an autostore, tractor store, Costco, Walmart, etc that's the
correct viscosity and has the recommended ratings/certifications will be more than good enough.
Probably even offbrand oils no one ever heard of are good (if they have recommended viscosity and
ratings/certifications).
However, your choice of filter matters. Last I heard, the best oil and air filters are autostore housebrand
premium filters, and they're good prices for premium filters. I use Oreilly Microgard Select filters because I live between and near 2 Oreilly stores.
My cousin uses NAPA Gold housebrand filters because he lives near a NAPA store.
The Oreilly & NAPA housebrand filters
are the same filter both made by Premium Guard. The only difference is the box. i.e. - if it's put into an Oreilly box or a NAPA box.
If lived near an Autozone store I'd buy an Autozone housebrand Carquest premium filter. It'd be the same filter made by Premium Guard, but in an Autozone or Carquest box.
Same deal with all national and regional autostores. They buy their housebrand filters from Premium Guard, which currently is the best filter, or among the best, and is available at good price. Sometimes bargains exist.
