I have Kendal GT 1 Euro in my VW..
The only negative is the price really jumped up lately..

They used to allow you to buy it direct and at a great price.
PSC online is the last place I bought it and Amazon has a few flavors too

I changed the factory fill at 2854 miles just now. I went with some items I usually don't use..
I had some 5w30 SP QS Ultimate Protection and I figured I'd use it up as it was a one off bottle..
Next, new to me since the rework the K&N 1010 20k filter which 10k to me.. I will say filling up an Ecore is a breeze compared to holes or louvers...quick and painless...as you guys already know.
I was dreading removing the filter but to my surprise I did wrench it but it took minimal effort unlike every other new car which is a real fiasco to remove. My Maverick was horrific and so was the over cranked drain plug.
The filter was glossy and slick to tighten but I grabbed a coarse micro fiber cloth and that did the trick.. I do miss the Frams because of the grip provided..
Test drove it and no leaks or anything and I may have a long trip soon... about 3000 miles or so...
The old oil looked new and I'll cut the filter soon.

Castrol EDGE Extended Performance or Mobil 1 ESP 0W-20 - both have MB 229.71 approvals. That's what I'm switching my wife's CX-90 to after this test with HPL.
Valvoline Advanced Syn and PENTIUS XL gets my vote.
The Renewable Lubricants oil is a very, very good oil that just fell out of favour here. Bio-synthetic Esters and PAO base oil and an add-pack including antimony. Don’t let the packaging ‘fool’ you; it’s the best oil you have in your stash right now.

I plan on using it the next oci with a OG Ultra from the glory days and running the filter 2 ocis...thanks

Had nothing but good results so far with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum so that would get my vote. As for the filter, a Fram Endurance would be my choice as it's what i would consider to be the new Fram Ultra and my Civic Si is still running like new at a hair over 300k miles running those filters..
Cut open a Fram Endurance and an Amsoil oil filter for the same vehicle and compare. Look like twins.

I suggest @Zee09 put a pair of Filtermag SS on his oil filter. This will remove ferrous particles that are 2 microns and larger. Filtermag is reuseable. Each time you change oil filter you move the pair of Filtermag to the new oil filter.
I think that would be very helpful for a new engine because new engines shed a lot of ferrous particles. I think it's also somewhat helpful after the breakin period. I have a pair of Filtermag SS on my high mileage car.
Filtermag SS can be purchased as a single one, or a pair. I recommend buying a pair.
The 1st photo shows a pair of Filtermag SS on an oil filter.
The 2nd photo shows a cut open oil filter. See the cut open filter can. Stuck to the inside of the can are the ferrous particles that were captured by the Filtermag SS.

I have already put another 5000 miles on the fresh oil and now I have to use the dealer free maintenance or I lose it....
