I miss these threads...

2024 Mitsubishi Sport 2L NA..
2700 miles on it.. Ow20 factory spec

I have about every oil on Amazon and filters including RP and OG Ultra
I have 0w30 Amsoil Euro and Renewable Lubricants 5w30
Tons of Kendal old and new in all flavors and weights. Magnatec too.
Valvoline, Castrol, QS, PUP, Chevron, Havoline, etc.

I have no HPL however..

Any oil that meets the specs can't be posted....whatever is cheapest...nope..
Please explain why you would use your listed oil... thanks all...

Are you asking which of the oils you listed we would use, or which oil to use even if you didn't list it?

Personally, with only 2700 miles on the car, I'd be running short OCI anyway, so I'd use the less expensive oils and save the best oils for after break-in when I can take full of advantage of the intervals they allow.

Name the oil and filter you would use yourself most likely I already have it...that's what I'm asking...thanks

Castrol Edge Extended Perf. 0W-20
Mobil 1 ESP 0W-20

No preference. Used both and feel they are good products. Not sure what the interval is on the Outlander Sport (or what your preferred intervals are), but both should be suitable for 10k miles minimum.

Filter, hard to go wrong with the OE Mitsubishi.

That was definitely in my top pick list and the oem filter is quality...7500 is the basic but with premium stuff I go 10k or 1 year...

2700 miles? Supertech/Kirkland/Amazon Basics and a Supertech/Pentius/Purolator Edge filter. My reason is because the first few changes would be short intervals to remove the particles as the newly machined surfaces wear into each other. No sense using up an expensive oil when it’s getting dumped in 2000 miles.

I already told you this. Green bottle GTL goodness QS Ultimate with one of those sweet Mitsu OEM filters. Now go obey or I’m sending you to your room with no phone. 🤨

I’ve always been a Castrol and Valvoline fan because they keep my engine very clean according to when I had analysis done. But any name brand is fine with me. Any name brand filter works too. I don’t do the non name brands for oil. I usually use Napa Gold filters or Wix or factory.

Supertech 5W30 with a MicroGuard filter. Like I said, I'm not spending extra when I know this combination is solid and it's only going to be in there for about 3k miles. Once out of break-in at about 20k then options will open up.

The answer is as clear as daylight. M1, 5W-30EP. It is cheap, available at Walmart in 5 qt jugs, is an AN based oil with an HTHS of around 3.0 and is not particularly viscous, nor unusually thin, just a well proven performer that is a step up from the 20 viscosity oils.

I'd use the Valvoline. I have three jugs in the garage for future use . My 2014 Mitsu has seen about every off the shelf major 0W-20 . Next oil change for the Mitsu will be some Idemitsu I got on clearance a few years ago. BTW, how do you like your Mitsu Sport? Does it have the awd feature?

I had 5 and had a 2014 too. Bought my mom a 2014 as well...loved them.
2024 have standard across the board AWD now.
It is what it is you know but super reliable. The 24 is super slick and everything is improved. The cvt is far more responsive and the engine wants to Rev now and underneath things were done to boost the mpgs.

Still reach under the bumper for the easy oil filter change...no covers to remove.. Mitsubishi doesn't list any power upgrades but it feels like 30 more hp with the cvt working like it should... far less groan than the 2014s..

The only bad thing is they are now overpriced as they went back to Japan and no longer a UAW build.

I would go with M1 EP 0W-20. This is a robust oil with a Kinematic Viscosity at 8.8 @ 100 C. It is a bit on the thicker side which is good for the bearings. It will keep the engine sparkling and a smile on your face. I would use an OEM filter as they seem of good quality.

Save all of your stashed trash and use Providence 10W40 Motor Oil and a Prime Guard filter from Rural King.

No Rural King near you? Sorry 'bout your luck. Do it right or quit the fight. Go big or go home.

If I was choosing from your stash, Magnatec and any Fram filter. Magnatec because I've always wanted to try it and now it's not available. Fram because I ain't afraid of no Can Of Death.

You know I'm not deaf yet right? 😳

How about Bio-SynXtra 5w30 with a RP filter? Any takers? Renewable Lubricants...

I got a deal on it but the label is low rent and the quarts are like that old Dollar General Oil .... thin at best

It comes off as junk oil...
