Anyone know of any photo sharing websites that won't allow viewers to copy pictures by doing a "Save as" or "Screen capture" or other creative ways by which they can copy down pics to local PCs ?

Then it wouldn't be Photo sharing, just photo hosting.

I think a javascript, though, that prevents right clicking on an image is deterrent enough for most users. Using Flash-based galleries instead of straight up images works too, as does overlaying a scaled-up 1px x 1px transparent .gif over the image.

Nothing guards against a screenshot; but again, the best you can hope to do is deter.

Most times you can cheat that javascript by left clicking, both clicking, then right clicking in a "rolling motion". Agree on the screen shot.

Best bet is mediocre resolution and a watermark.

If you run your own server you can selectively enforce 3rd party moochy links, at least forcing a download.

I think flickr allows "spaceball.gif" 1x1 gifs as described above.

Ditto, Even if fancy javascript in place, one can still view the source...

Yes, viewing the source will end-run the spaceball.gif speed bump at flickr. Just look for JPG files until you find the one you want to download.

Of course most people won't do that....

I just use FireFox with the Greasemonkey add-on. Someone wrote a spaceball Greasemonkey script that works great. Takes a little effort to set-up though.
