Inlet holes slightly smaller on the PG, tapping plates are noticeably different between the two. PG slightly taller over EG. I would say X4612 is more comparable to a Fram 6607 as the PG to a Fram 7317.

Wild to have that much of a size difference between the two! Seems like a "two application types, one part number" situation for the Ecogard X4612. They also list the Purolator L14622 as a cross reference, which if I remember correctly is a discontinued number.

I have a PG4610 in front of me and about half of the cross reference numbers are the same as the ones on the PG4612 box.

That’s what I thought there’s a noticeable length difference

The PG4612 is one of those consolidated part numbers that quickie lubes use on everything that it will fit on. Jiffy Lube seems to very "good" at it.
