One tiny little speck of something and no glitter in the can. The media seam isn't perfectly placed but no issues. Will let the media drain for a few days and cut it out and post it.

Excellent pics!

Given I tend to find more carbon slurry in the bottom of the can of the filters I cut open when running Restore and protect, I opted to just stick with it on my fleet, including my 2021 Equinox 1.5T. Currently have about 71500mi on the Equinox. Oil change interval is ~4500 miles. I've been running Ecogard X2500's on the GM's in my sig.

Interesting, your base plate is a different design then mine.
You probably have an older filter design? Pretty sure they've went to metal ends & ecore on several filters over the last few years when Champ took over more manufacturing for Fram.

Thanks for posting your Equinox filter. Are you excited about Valvoline Restore and Protect?
Curious maybe. We bought the car a year ago and only put 3500 miles on it. The Carfax showed regular service but I suspect it was geezer owned and may have been driven gently and not sure what that means for a 1.5T engine. Can't hurt to run the Valvoline Restore and Protect. I drive the old Jeep for everything so put it where it's harder to get out to force driving this one more.

Mine did have metal end caps and an encore. I purchased it at Walmart maybe 6 months ago. I did a c&p a few days ago it looks the same but the base plate is different.

I think you used the newer version of this & OP used the previous version.

Sounds like you set out a plan to try it. Like you said...can't hurt. Curious to see your media results on the Valvoline Restore and Protect. 👀
