PF46E redesign?

In Canada here, but got a Pf46E from GM and things have changed.. any info on these?

Looks concave now at the bottom and has “1 Turn” instead of the old 3/4

PF64s started looking like that last spring No internal changes. And the top plate served no real purpose anyway.

Those holes were always there, they were just hidden by something that is now gone.

At some point I don't think the AC Delco filters were that open on the base plate, even when the cover with holes over the base plate was still being used.
