Pet Peeves

People that don't wash after using the lavatory, then they grab the door handle. Eww. Have to bring a used paper towel for opening that.

People that go through the 10 items or less aisle with two grouops of three items, that they want rung up seperately. Should have to take first bunch out to the car, then go shopping again and stand in line, again.

I would hook up a charity with a dollar donation, automatically tagged onto the bill, for too many items in the express line. I wouldn't feel so bad if the pinhead in front of me was making a semi-voluntary contribution to the March of Dimes or whomever. The store could market it as a positive.

"Those black dancing silhouettes on web site ads."

I thought it was just me. I have no idea what they're advertising. I just get away as quickly as possible.

I am honored to be with the esteemed critters espousing the cootish viewpoint.

I've had dudes actually not flush the urinal when ~someone~ is waiting behind them. I've corrected their behavior by asking if then would like their face shoved in there before they leave. Works every time and I'm still alive.

People like MarkC who come across as better than us lot of whiners.

I guess what he might be trying to say (rather than kill this thread) is that there is a distinction between having something that bugs you in a way like eating too much at the Indian buffet, vs. becoming a PO employee and REALLY being bugged by someone outgassing in the aisle at WalMart.

I find it difficult to adapt to the way people behave in general. I'm 32 and still struggling to adjust. People are generally stupid selfish jerks. I find it very hard to accept, as I have high standards of behavior for myself and others. Perhaps it's related to the way I was raised, my dad was honest to a fault and considerate, two characteristics that always had him finishing last.

I could go on for hours with my pet peeves but I don't have time for that.

I often say, I'm not prejudiced, I hate everyone equally.

BITOG is a refuge from the stupidity, mostly rather intelligent people with apparent integrity.

Holy crapola Sparkman! We must be long lost cousins.........honest to a fault............that describes my father and the way I generally behave. Finishing last seems to be the end result of a generally nice, honest to a fault man. Would I have it any other way? Not a chance. It's just my inborn, innate self - I refuse to treat others how I don't like being treated - to try and gain advantage in life or the workplace. But if someone REALLY REALLY messes with me, I'll be the first person to confront them in the back alley parking lot behind the building for a little old school justice. But in general day to day dealings with others, the "nice guy" gets trampled on like grass in a cow pasture.

Sparkman and Drew99GT,

I must be the third cousin, once removed then, because you guys hit the nail on the head. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way.

new pet peeve -

that stupid "this is our country" chevy commercial featuring john cougar trailercamp, they must play that thing 500,000 times during football games.

from the east coast, to the west coast....shove it.

Good to see other misanthropes here

Pablo: Since you mentioned it spelling and grammar on forums. I deal with a few car forums and it's depressing to note a fair number of people under 25 in this country seem to be bordering on illiteracy. They're also fine examples of the continuing death spiral of science education in America.

1) The widespread lack of common courtesy in the USA.

2) Turn signals that come on after the brake lights.

3) Public street signs, stores signs, and product labeling in foreign languages.

4) ATMs and voice menus that force me to choose a language.

5) The lack of porno pop-ups in other than children's books
