I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has helped me understand oil much better and to comment on Pentosin Pentosynth 5W-40 that I am using in my 1.8T 05 GLI. I think I have found my summer oil. I would recommend this oil to anyone. And, I will be posting my used oil analysis numbers soon to see just how good it is working. My MPG went up too. I used ECStuning.com by the way and everything went well! Does anyone have their own experience with this oil?

I'm looking forward to that UOA, since I, too drive a VW 1.8T.
The Pentosin 5w40 oil has always intrigued me, but I've never tried it. I've been a GC/M1 guy since I started maintaining my car last year.
I tried the green GC, but found the motor running very hot! I recently changed the oil and installed an OEM oilfilter. The Pentosynth 5W-40 has been in now for alittle bit and the car just loves it. I purchased it from ECStuning.com too! You should try it!
