Have any Pennzoil users over the last decade, by chance, dissected their engines to inspect the innards to see how clean or dirty it is?

Since I've become a member of here, I've heard many great things about Pennzoil but haven't seen or read any posts on an engine innards inspection that has been running on Pennzoil for a while (with pictures)?

If this topic has been posted before, I apologize, I'm still learning to use the forums and its search features.

Thanks in advance.

When my uncle had to replace the lower intake manifold on my 3.4 Grand Am, he commented on how clean the inside of my engine was, and the only thing I put in it for the 10k miles after I bought it was PP with a over sized Wix 51334.

Don't worry about how clean your engine is on any Major API certified oil. If you go with the recommended OCI of your vehicle, whether severe or normal, I guarantee you will have a very clean engine. As long as you have been following good maintenance practices you are good to go. Constant short trip drivers have to be the most "vigilant" for lack of a better word, with oil changes. I would go 3k/3mo. in that situation for sure.

Bought a 1999 Ford Taurus with the 3.0l V6 Vulcan used with 21k miles. At 61k it needed new head gaskets so the heads had to come off. Clean as new everywhere. Ran Pennzoil conventional most of the time and ocis of 4-5k.

At 108k it needed head gaskets again and still clean as new any place you wanted to look.

It had 154k when it went to the junk yard but sadly the engine was still clean and running fine. The transmission took it out of service.

Take care, bill

Look for good UOAs for Pennzoil rather than a clean looking engine. There are many for PP which seems to be a favorite. Its also one of the best value synthetics out there given you can buy it at Walymart in 5 QT jugs.

I am still waiting for the 6 QT jugs I need for my Jeep 4.0 engine.

Somewhere on here, there is a post of a member who had a Chevrolet Baretta GT with a V-6.

Nothing but Pennzoil 5w30 at 3k OCI's, and at 300+k miles, he took the valvecover off - engine was absolutely spotless.
