Just a little history on my car:
-2001 GT 5-speed w/129,000 miles
-AEM DryFlow filter on my short ram intake
-Borla cat-back exhaust
-frequent "spirited" driving w/2nd gear near red line once engine is warmed up
-runs 4oz/gal. of Marvel Mystery Oil (MMO) in fuel

This Oil Sample History:
-5qts of Pennzoil Ultra 5w30 fully synthetic oil
-Purolator Pure One oil filter
-mixed city/highway driving
-ran from 7-11-2010 to 3-30-2011
-endured 90+ degree summer heat and near 0 degree winter startups
-no make-up oil was added (measured 4 of 5 total quarts when drained)
-burned approx 1/2qt & leaked approx 1/2qt (weeping camshaft seals)

Comments?

I am very pleased with the results, especially with the amount of redlines it sees. I did this because I have caught [censored] from everyone about not changing my oil every 3,000 miles, so now I have proof to shove in their faces.

I think it looks real good. Other than Si(likely intake), everything seems fine. Even at 33ppm, Si isn't super high for almost 9K miles.

I wouldn't run the GTX 9K though

I won't be running the GTX 9k, the only reason I went to conventional is because I will be putting the car in storage at the end of the summer when I leave for the Army and I see no point in putting synthetic in there for such a short interval. The GTX runs quite smooth though.

I was about to say...dang man, you alone could keep that company in business.

the time you have to edit your posts on this forum is ridiculously short.

im not sure if the MMO really had much of an effect on the wear numbers or not, but i plan to continue using it. i can see the bare piston tops through my spark plugs holes and the valves were spotless when i had the manifold off.

im running the GTX over the summer until i put it in storage, then it'll get changed with the 5qts of platinum that i have laying around. and thank you.

thank you much, i'll need it with my job as an EOD specialist.

i this report also doubled as the basis for my chemistry term paper. im currently sitting at 1,900 words and 9 pages. still going.

i tell them that anyways, and it usually sparks a debate, this is just more proof to back me up. no use in getting a boutique oil at 2x the price and a fram xg filter when an off the shelf synthetic will do that for 1/2 the price and a $6 filter from advance auto will too.

By the way...does anyone else have a problem with Blackstone sending you an excessive amount of sample containers? I just got 2 more in the mail today.
