From what I've seen over the last 2 years, PP is as good or better than any boutique brand up to a 10k mile interval. At that point I think Amsoil is the best. I think PP has proven to be one of the best. What do you all think? Only weakness of that oil is the volatility on the PDS, yet, in other testing it's shown to be much lower. Noack in the 8-10% range.

It's what I use. Very shear and fuel resistant, continually puts up good wear numbers and TBN retention. Best OTC oil easily.

Definitely. Shell has a good oil here with PP.

I'm currently using it for 7500 mile OCI's due to factory warranty, but, based upon my UOA's, I'll be happy to extend to 10000 mile OCI's when the warranty is up (in another 13000 miles). Seems pretty good to me, especially when my average cost per quart has been just under 2.00...I buy it on sale, and with coupons!

How does it compare to Schaeffers 7000? PP is rarely on sale around me, and I can get Schaeffers 7000 for $4 and change per quart.

I'm currently using it (or going to be using it) in both of my vehicles. Seems to be great oil for the price - IE Coupons from PepBoys and in Walmart 5qt jugs.

I wasn't aware that PP was a SOPUS product.

When did that happen? What's the story behind PP being a Shell product - a corporate buyout??

I used to use Shell Super 2000 oil in my old Corvette ( I hadn't discovered Mobil 1 yet) and it was a great oil that left the engines innards clean as a whistle.

Please educate me guys - it's true... I have spent too much time under a rock... DV

SOPUS

What Buster says makes sense to me. Also, Johnny advises that the Quaker State synthetic product is close to the PP product if I'm not mistaken. I'm certain at least that he said that the PP is a little better if you have to decide between the two.

The more PP reports I see, the easier I sleep at night!

I must admit that I was a bit worried when I first switched from my beloved GC 0w30 over to PP 5w30 in my Vette. GC has some big shoes to fill, I've gotten nothing but awesome reports with it. But PP has also been one of those oils that seems to do no wrong, and has shown many people on here some simply amazing results. I'm at 14% right now on my Corvette's oil life monitor, so I'll be changing the oil in a few weeks time. It should hit zero right around 7000 miles, so it's about another 1000 to go. I can't wait to see the UOA! I haven't been this excited about a UOA since my very first GC UOA back in 2002!

You can get 5qt jugs at Walmart for $20. If you can get Schaffers at that price, I'd just use that as I am a big fan of Moly

Your vette has always had good uoa's .It probably will always have good numbers with any good oil because it is a good wearing engine.. I have been waiting for the uoa this time also,

When I had the feeling that our beloved Terry liked PP, that was good enough for me to try it. At 1.99 and under per quart, it's VERY hard to beat.

Pennzoil is doing really well to with some of the top NASCAR teams. This includes QS as well.
