6346 kilometers (3943 miles) on oil change, 42092 kilometers (26154 miles) on engine

I noticed that there is no fuel dilution listed on the report. I am thinking that something was maybe missed in the data entry, as all others have had reportable limits. I ran this oil a little longer than the others, & everything looks good, except for the Boron levels.

Not sure if it would be a problem to run a little longer OCI, considering the depleted Boron levels, or if it is an issue at all. I would like to run about 7500 - 8000 kilometers on the synthetic PP 5W-30 oil.

I have recently got back from a trip, out into British Columbia mountains, & have had the best fuel economy on the last 2 fuel ups since owning the truck. Maybe the rings have finally seated. I have been logging fuel consumption on the Fuelly app, and last 2 tanks were 11.9, & 11.6 Liters / 100 km. (20.4, & 19.8 US MPG) Previous best was 12.3, (19.1 MPG) & I usually had to drive below 100 km / hr to achieve this. The only other thing I done differently was to remove the engine cowling (cover) over the intake. Not sure if just a coincidence, or if it is helping to keep the fuel / air intake cooler.

5000 miles/8000km is very likely the proper oil change interval for a 3.5 ecoboost. Plenty of owners, including myself have determined this works well. It's a good balance between fuel contamination, particulate count and oil life.

Sounds like it can be a normal occurence.

Boron can bond with moisture, and be removed in the oil filter, was one explanation I heard.

I am not a chemist, but it sounds like it may be beneficial in controlling sludge, carbon deposits, etc. I am not sure, I guess this is a reason to continue using one particular brand of oil, & sticking with it.

I contacted AGAT labs to ask about the missing Fuel Dilution, & they replied back that they wont test for it unless the viscosity is out of spec, & flagged low/ critical.
Maybe the fuel dilution is not an issue in this sample. I am not sure how they calculate viscosity, & what levels they flag it.

So Ford is misleading their customers with up to 10000 miles interval following the OLM ? I'd like to read more about that

So far Im following the OLM until I get the oil change reminder from it my last UOA had the oil still serviceable at 9680 miles and 4%IIRC , so I have decided to take my chance and to trust the Ford engineers Running PP5w30 and 500s filter on a 45000 miles 2014 eco( next going in is a TG10575 )
