Aren't very common on store shelves, I never see them but I guess I only go into Wallyworld and NAPA. How are they regarded? The Platinium HE claims 99%, the standard doesn't say.

I have never seen filters at Costco. I'd scoop up on them lol
You can find a few videos of them cut open online, or Shell's marketing wank video, I don't see anything impressive about them, especially since you have to go out of your way to find them and they aren't cheap where I've seen them online, do they still actually make them, or is it just old stock sitting around.
Last ones were late 90s
As said, all the ones I have seen were Purolator made, but lately things have been changing under the management of Mann+Hummel, but as far as I know, still Puro made, and I am not impressed with Purolator.
Only filter I cut open that was torn was a Pennzoil PZ-37 filter.
