I was wondering if anyone is using Pennzoil HM 5w-30 and what their impessions of it are? I was considering all of the HM oils, but got some pennzoil on sale.

Used it in our 88 Camry (a little over 305,000 miles).

The only difference I noted was the occasional valve guide puff of smoke in the morning cleared up a bit.

why is Pennz. better than Havoline HM?
just curious.
wasn't it Pennz.HM that had a really weird VOA a while ago? I think it got cleared up, though...a batch error or something? I can't remember anymore.

Not the 5W-30 HM, but am running the 10W-30 HM in one of my old Volvo 240s, and amazingly it seems to have stopped a slight seep at the rear main seal. Haven't seen any fresh drips in the driveway for several months. Used about 1/2 quart in 2,500 miles, which is normal for this car (180K miles).

I've had good experience and uoa results with PZ HM 5W30 oil in my Club Wagon. But the real reason I use Pennzoil brand is because their technical data sheets offer a tad bit more information about their high mileage oils than some of their competitors. I feel like I am buying their oil with a little more confidence than others.

I use the 10w30 HM in a twenty year old Caddy with over 150k miles. Oil has performed well for the last eighty thousand. What more ?

I currently have the Pennzoil HM in my Saturn. It has apx 3700 miles on it, and will be changing it over to the Pennzoil Platinum soon. It appears to be a good oil; but I will be doing a UOA so then I can really see how good it is.

I've been running the PZ HM in my daughter's Maxima for the past two years. Nothing but favorable comments from this poster. Engine runs quiet and doesn't consume a drop. I've been using the 10w30, which is fine in the South.
