Hey all,
I’ve been running Pennzoil platinum euro L 5w-30 in my 2022 lm2 3.0 Duramax and trying to figure out if I can run it in my wife’s 2021 Yukon 6.2 also.
Thanks!

I always get it at Walmart, I’ve got 4 within 5 miles of me. 1 always seems to have it in stock, the other 3 can be hit or miss.

Seems the supply of the pennzoil since my last oil change has dried up, 1 Walmart out of a dozen in my area says they have 3 in stock. I’m going to stop by today and see if it’s actually there. Would the Mobil 1 esp 0w-30 be a good alternative for both engines if they don’t have the Pennzoil?

Any particular reason you’re not running DexosD 0W-20 in the 3.0?

I used Mobil 1 dexos d for the first 4 or 5 oil changes, at the time it was only available at autozone in single qts and no store ever had 7qts on the shelf. I was due for an oil change, couldn’t find enough Mobil 1 so I used the Pennzoil euro L. Motor seems to run smoother and quieter with no downsides so I’ve stayed with it. All anecdotal of course but the Mobil 1 would come out super thin and have an almost gritty feeling to it between the fingers whereas the 5w-30 still feels slippery.

Technically your not supposed to as it’s not dexos 1 rated, nor is it 0w20. but you most definitely can, I would. I just switched all my 5w30 specd Toyota and Lexus v8s to castrol 5w30 EURO and Quaker state euro L 5w40

Euro L is available in one viscosity flavor only - 5W-30.
You are correct , the other two viscosities I mentioned are not actually called Euro “L”, but they are still part of the same “Euro” lineup though. They are labeled Euro LX 0w30 and Euro 5w40.

Yes that is a proper substitution for Euro L.

So, it's good for turbochargers and GDI engines, yes?
Yes, my son ran it in his Volvo C30 and it was the only oil that it did not burn. M1 and Castrol would be 1 to 2 qts low over a 7k oci. Switched to Euro L and it stayed full throughout the interval. Great oil.

Yes.

Where are you buying it? Some people have had difficulty finding it at Walmart.
I know you always looking if available just found in sheboygan wi I haven't seen it in months.

Walmarts around me stopped carrying it in stores, so I have to order it. I'm currently running it in my 535d, my Daughter's Ford Edge, and could use it in our other 2 vehicles. Come to think of it, I think that's what I'll do from now on.
