Pennzoil Euro L 5w30 vs Euro LX 0w30

This is for a Macan S using the EA839 engine, it's a Porsche C20 oil recommended but I use C30.

I accidentally ordered Euro L 5w30 instead of LX 0w30 which meets C30. How bad is it to just use that? I do changes around 6k miles and never go above 3.5k rpm unless fully warmed up.

The 229.51 spec is quite robust, as is LL-04.

Run it. Exceptional oil. Noack 6.2%, HTHS as far as I remember 3.68cP.

Only thing that stands out is the Euro L is not SN+/SP, so still has the old high-detergent additive pack compared to more LSPI-friendly oils. Is EA839 LSPI-prone?

It should be fine. I use the 0w30 because it gets cold here. Not so much where you are.

European engines rarely have an issue with it unless poorly executed tune.
Also, ZDDP mitigates LSPI issue.

$740 for an oil change on the 718 Boxster GTS
$650 for an oil change on the Macan S

This is actually more expensive than Socal.

I had to double check this wasn't for the full inspection. Porsche indies in the are are quoting around half of that. Guess I'll just be doing it myself regardless and just document the crap out of it.

VW/Porsche don't test for LSPI, but Mercedes does and this oil has Mercedes approvals

I thought it was the lowering of calcium that mitigated LSPI?

ZDDP. Calcium is inhibiting. But, with API SM ZDDP levels in ILSAC oils went down.
