Pennzoil 5w20 conventional

After trolling BITOG for a few years, I think YB 5-20 is certainly one of the best, if not the best, dino oil. After experimenting with several syns I have decided to stick with a 3-4k interval and use YB 5w-20 as the oil of choice. I favor shorter intervals since most of the driving of our vehicles is around town.

Maybe I need to join a 3k changer support group.

Good luck.

Don't know where in NC you are, but most around here have MC jugs for $12.50 and PYB jugs for $13.00. IMO, you can't go wrong with either.

3K, no sweat. 5K, good to go too.

Had an 01 Accord 2.3 I4, ran the first 50,000 or so miles with 3750 oil changes on conventional Penz and some Quaker state in the winter when I was too lazy to change it myself. The last 60,000 miles with 5000, then 7500 mile changes with mostly Platinum. All 5w20. Engine still ran like new, but I needed four doors.

3000 miles? In any of those cars, no sweat. The Camry should be 5000, I have the same 2.4 in an 04 Highlander and I go 7500 on Platinum (but I use 5w-30, may use 5w-20 next winter). I don't have anything similar to your other cars, but I'm sure they're up for more than 3 grand, if you're into it.

they are all group II+ - very hydroprocessed, extremely durable. I really love 5w20, my cars call for 5w30, so i mix 5w20 with synthetic 5w30: or synthetic 5w20 with dino 5w30(which is group II) the engines just love it - Mitsubishi 1.5l, Subaru 2.5l NA. I'll probably run it even in my Dodge 3.7l which does call for the 5w20, but 5w25 is close enough :)

My Dodge 3.7l, calls for 5w20, and the manual says to change every 6000 miles, so very likely it will hold up to 5000 miles. :)

Its a good oil just like all the other dino 5w20 oils out there.

Geez, this makes me wonder why some of us are using oil that costs 3X as much and dumping it at the same intervals.

Is 5W-20 oil inherantly better than 5W-30 oil?

I completely agree. I ran it 7300 miles on my old Saturn with great results. (The car calls for 5w-30 )

3K changes are a minimum for this oil.
