I'm very pleased with the outcome. I had a Camaro with the same engine and I always had between 40-70 ppm Copper in every oil sample, so I think it's just how the engine wears. This engine is showing lower iron and lead than my Camaro did on 5k OCIs. I am extremely impressed with the capability of Pennzoil Ultra, and I was shocked to see a TBN over 4 after such a long run.

Looks good, agree with your thoughts about the TBN. Held visc. nicely, too.

With insols. at .4 now, 12k should be just about a perfect-length run.

I agree, with that much highway driving, you can easily do 12k OCIs but i'd run another 10k miles and sample again, just to get more data before proceeding to go longer. If the report comes back looking as good as with or a bit better, run the oil another 2,000 miles before dumping and then take all other OCIs out to 12k.

It was dark brown, smelled normal, good viscosity and was essentially the same appearance as my 5k oil changes have been. I think for now I'm very happy with 10K on this oil as it still gives me a great margin for error yet conserves a lot of resources.
