As some of you may recall, I was having significant oil consumption in my 05 Grand Caravan which I had purchased new, using Havoline and Motorcraft oil. Both great oils, but I was using 1/2 to 3/4 qts in about 1200 miles.
I switched to Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 and the oil consumption has been greatly reduced to almost eliminated. On my last OCI, I used a half quart in 3000 miles. On my current OCI, I used a half quart in the first 2300 miles, but it was hot weather and I was towing a camper. Since topping off, I have driven an aditional 3000 miles (with a lot of camper towing) and have had zero consumption.
I did a used oil analysis and the Pennzoil Platinum is showing really well. The only concern was some busing wear that was still in the nomral range, but at the high end. Also, some slight fuel dilution issues. The TBN was 3.7 with additives "active but diluted". I will follow Dyson's recommenations to resolve the fuel dilute issues.
I had used Havoline for years and know that it is a great oil. My engine needed something different and a synthetic seemed to really make a difference. I will continue to watch sales and stay stocked up for the life of this vehicle.

Good to hear. I took advantage of the Schucks rebate offered on PP so I got some at $.99/qt! The sale price before rebate was $3.49 which is pretty good to begin with!

I think I'm gonna try it in my 04 Accord and see if it makes any difference from the dino I've been running.
