I'm addicted to peanut butter. All I need is a jar of peanut butter and a spoon.

Do any of you make your own peanut butter? I puree freshly peeled and roasted peanuts with the skins, add a little peanut oil, some coarsely chopped roasted peanuts for crunch, and salt to taste. I fill the goop into a mason jar that I keep in the fridge. I don't know how long it keeps before spoiling, because I finish the jar in essentially no time.

My favorite off-the-shelf product is Skippy Natural Extra Crunchy, which I will eat in a pinch.

I'm not a purist. I just do JIF and white bread. My dog loves it when i put the Jif in the center of an old marrow bone. I never made it myself. I do eat many peanuts in the shell and green peanuts boiled though.

+1

Peanuts can contain carcinogens from the fungi that grow on them. Try to consume more almond or macadamia butter than peanut butter.

If you are afraid of mycotoxins, you should stop eating any nut, legume, or grain products. When handling flour, you may ingest aflatoxin via the airways.

I like the natural style peanut butters. Anything with sugar added like Skippy or Jif can stay in the jar. If I want it sweet, I'll put jelly or honey on.

All I want to see for ingredients is peanuts and salt. The less salt the better.

Almost everything seems to be carcinogenic.

Man...I have not had really good natural peanut butter in a long time. My wife insists on Jif and if I come home with anything different

The complaints will not cease until Jif is provided.
I remember buying Skippy one time...you would have thought that I brought home Soylent Green.

No protein
No caffeine
Remember
Everything, gives you cancer.

Thanks Joe Jackson.

Crunchy! Jif, Skippy, Peter Pan, house brand- I ain't skeered.

Peanut butter on fresh hot toast- according to Captain Kangaroo & Mr. GreenJeans, circa 1958, that was a Peter Pan Picker-Upper!

Here's a snack to send the nervous nellies running in horror: peanut butter of your choice(make mine crunchy!) on a vanilla wafer, topped with a couple of chocolate chips.

I make my own. Dump some in the food processor with a little oil and let it run for 3 mins. Then dump a little more in and run it 20 seconds for "chunky".

After making my own, regular jar peanut butter tastes bad.

fresh ground peanut butter from the local Holiday Market "No sticky fingers in the peanuts" and local honey from the Stayer or Parks bee people. There isn't anything better tasting.
