Hey, just use search and you will see over 20 pages to pick from. Looks pretty good 5k oci IMHO. With the increase I see in the new ads oil like Peak will become more important .Either way keep in mind a established oil like Quaker State via Wally is as good a deal. I think the price for 5 qt jug is alittle over $19.

My son has a 96 Toyota Corolla with almost 170K miles. We usually just use 5W30 ST oil and a ST filter every 3-4K miles. It uses a qt of oil about every 1-1.5K miles.I was thinking of using PEAK 10W30.......opinions?

Do it. Peak motor oil is made by the same company that make ST oil, at least in my part of the country. Most likely uses the same add pack as ST. The Peak deal would be less net money and a better filter.

Sounds good. I had an 01 that lasted 213,000 and still started in the dead of winter first time every time. And that was on once-a-year 12,000 mile oil changes. By the end if it there were no working interior door handles, just a set if vice grips.

Peak oil is ho hum pretty average. But that's really all this car needs and the price is right. I'm not sure when it went from belt to chain, but that long OCI might not be a great idea if your corolla has a chain. Probably wasn't a great idea for mine either. Capricious youth I guess.

You may want try 2qt 10w-40 with the balance 10w30 since you are in FL and the engine is nearing the end of its service life. Me, I'd run Formula Shell or Exxon Superflo unless UR REALLY cash strapped. I see cash strapped people buying Coffee Coolattas at the evil orange and brown DD, so I guess their priorities are elsewhere ...

Peak may be similar to Super Tech and the new PDS's that I got from Warren Performance shows what seems to be really good oils. The PDS's are for the 10w30 and 10W-40 versions.

The 10W-40 version has 910 parts of zinc,a nice amount and it is SN.

If Peak is the same or similar,it should be a good oil.

Here are the PDS's.

I have used it for short OCI's 3K with A Rx for a cleaning cycle and had o problems. I would think with short oil changes it will be fine.
