So, I went to Mitsubishi today to get some ATF SP III and also some Mitsu coolant. They gave me this Peak "Full Force" coolant.

Peak Full Force

It looked pretty good and I did not feel like driving somewhere else.

Anyone know what type of coolant it is? Is it another G-05 clone? A dexcool clone? I don't know what color it is yet.

Looks like a low silicate IAT type coolant. Similar to Zerex's 5/100 conventional formula.

The question is how much did he charge you for the coolant.

IAT = Inorganic Acid Technology? Is that what it stands for? It is tough to know what to do with these "off-brand" cars. Mitsu/Kia/Hyundai. The manual says use a "Long Life" coolant. (like that really helps) I was hoping for a Mitsu brand to ensure compatibility. (since it is a hassle to truly flush the system). This new coolant technology stuff really makes my head hurt.

Hyundai owners' manuals are a model of confusion/suspect information regarding replacement coolant:
"Recommended Engine Coolant
Use a high quality ethylene glycol coolant in a 50/50 mix with water. The engine coolant should be compatible with aluminum parts." ('03 Sonata)
To my knowledge there is no "Hyundai Antifreeze/Coolant". I havent found "High Quality" brand antifreeze, either... 21 months ago I flushed and refilled with SuperTech All Makes Extended Life antifreeze/coolant (a "dexclone") mixed 50/50 with distilled water. No problems, haven't even had to top up, yet. The stuff's still absolutely transparent. The OEM coolant had turned moderately cloudy at 21 months in service. To anyone who bought or is considering a Hyundai: change out the OEM coolant to G-05, DEX-COOL(tm), or a dexclone ASAP at the first sign of turbidity.

When I drained my coolant I had 30 months on the coolant. The fluid was absolutely clear with no cloudiness. The color of the fluid was blue green. Not the bright green of the Full Force fluid.

Recommended coolant change interval was 48 months.
