I have a 2006 Grand Caravan with the 3.8 that has about 240,000 miles. I want to change the pcv to see if I can reduce oil consumption a bit. My memory of other pcv's is that they act like sort of a one-way check valve: allowing suction in one direction and no (or reduced) flow in the other direction. The one that I got from Amazon (Standard) just rattles and will allow flow (or suction) in either direction.

My question is, is this proper for this model? I haven't taken the old one out yet. Access is challenging.

My limited experience is that the rattling is normal, but I don't see the point of a valve that doesn't restrict flow in one direction.

When I changed my pcv valve on my neon it definitely helped reduce oil consumption. However Dodge discontinued the hose that attaches it to the valve cover. I had to use a generic hose from Napa.
