PC finally too old

Microsoft doesn't do OSes well, and they never have.

My opinion is that Microsoft wishes they could just dump Windows and be done developing and supporting operating systems. Frankly, Microsoft has moved on from the OS, but they have that anchor around their necks they can't get rid of.

Hmmm. My PC is younger than I thought as I built it around the i7-4770k soon after it came out. XFX 6950 2gb, 8gb ram, Razor Barracuda AC-1 sound card, 650 power unit, W10. Big Coolermaster HAF case.

I’m constantly upgrading as I see deals pop up. I cascade parts through a few systems before I sell them or just toss them.

I have a top-shelf Lenovo Legion 17" laptop bought new in 2017. It still does everything expected of it but runs Windows 10 and will not take Win 11. It's essentially a paperweight after Oct 2025, pity.

I have a top-shelf Lenovo Legion 17" laptop bought new in 2017. It still does everything expected of it but runs Windows 10 and will not take Win 11. It's essentially a paperweight after Oct 2025, pity.

My Lenovo desktop won't take Win 11, thank goodness. No way am I replacing it though.
